Welcome to Scavenger Puzzles

In this post I am going to go over the rules, seasons and rounds, what kind of puzzles you can expect and how point scoring will work to make this a fun and competitive game for people to take part in.

Rules

  1. Do not use Disallowed Modifications .
    • For the puzzles, mods like replay mod and flashback are also disallowed.
  2. Keep solutions to yourself.
    • This is to prevent spoiling the game for others.
  3. Report any bugs you find with either the bot or the puzzle itself.

Rules are subject to change and notice will be provided on any changes. Rules are enforced at the discretion of TheMysterys and they have final say in all matters relating to the puzzles.

Puzzles

To kick things off we have puzzles and how they are scored.

While playing puzzles will be need to be solved in order and they go from easiest to hardest.

There are 5 different difficulties that can be found and each difficulty will increase in points going from:

Now that you know the difficulties below are the types of puzzles you might encounter:

Rounds and Seasons

Moving on to rounds and seasons, rounds will contain multiple puzzles which need to be solved before they end. Seasons will contain multiple rounds and are what you will be competing to be the champion of.

Rounds will last for 2 1/2 weeks starting at the daily reset on the Monday and going till the daily reset on the Thursday 2 weeks later.

If you manage to complete all the puzzles for a round you will get rewarded a bonus 10 points to give you a boost on the leaderboards.

At the end of each round the solution to the puzzles will be posted here along with the current leaderboard.

How do I play?

To play you will first need to get your puzzle. This can be done by running the /scavenger puzzle command. This will return to you your task, an image and the difficulty of the puzzle.

To solve the puzzle you’ll need to run /scavenger solve. When providing your solution, make sure you provide any coordinates in the following format: x/y/z and including the slashes.

Accuracy Window

When you submit a solution, some puzzles will have an accuracy window, which determines how many blocks away from the correct answer you can be.

Simple and Easy puzzles will typically have an accuracy window of 0 meaning exact answers will be required. But from Advanced and above they can have a window of 1 or 2 blocks based on type of puzzle you’re being required to solve.

Example

If the puzzle has an accuracy window of 2, then you can be up to 2 blocks away from the correct answer.

So say the answer was 100/64/100 the submission between:

Will be accepted.

Prizes

At the end of each season the winners will be rewarded with a prize from the season’s prize pool. The amount in the prize pool and information about how it is split can be found here .

The order of placements will be first determined by total points earnt in season and then for tie breaking, points per round starting from round 1 of the season.
